Temporary backhaul

Starlink can bring internet to the site. We design what happens after it lands there.

Managed Starlink, mobile and temporary internet options for festivals, markets, conferences, production compounds and remote event sites across Scotland.

More than dish hire

A satellite connection at base camp does not automatically cover the bars, entrance or trader village.

Starlink is useful where fixed broadband is unavailable or unsuitable, but it is only one part of an event network. The connection still needs power, secure routing, suitable placement, distribution and a support plan.

We can provide temporary internet as a managed service rather than leaving the organiser to connect a consumer router and hope the signal reaches the operational areas.

Temporary internet options

  • Starlink as a primary connection
  • 4G or 5G as primary or backup
  • Existing venue broadband where suitable
  • Multiple backhaul paths for higher-risk events
  • Traffic control and prioritisation

Distribution across the event site

Depending on the site, the connection can be distributed using Ethernet, PoE switches, outdoor access points and point-to-point wireless links. Each zone is assessed for distance, obstructions, structures, power and the number of devices expected.

Resilience should match the commercial risk

A small private event may be comfortable with one connection and remote support. A multi-bar festival may justify backup backhaul, spare equipment, live monitoring and an engineer on site. We scope the level of resilience against the operational impact of failure.

Common questions

Can I hire only a Starlink terminal?

The service is primarily managed connectivity rather than dry equipment hire. A compact Starlink setup may be possible, but we still confirm placement, power, network distribution and support requirements.

Does Starlink work anywhere in Scotland?

Service depends on a suitable view of the sky, local obstructions, power and current service availability. The proposed location should be reviewed before deployment.

Can Starlink be backed up by 4G or 5G?

Yes, where usable mobile coverage exists. Backup design can range from a secondary connection available to switch over to, through to managed failover.

Can one Starlink serve a whole festival?

Potentially, but capacity and site coverage are separate questions. Larger events may need multiple connections or distribution zones depending on device count and operational demand.

Do you install and remove the equipment?

Yes. Installation, testing, live support and teardown can be included in the scope.
