Remote and temporary sites

Temporary connectivity for outdoor events, sports sites, shows and production compounds.

Designed around power, weather, structures, distance and the operational areas that cannot afford to be isolated.

Outdoor sites behave differently

Distance, weather and temporary structures turn a simple Wi-Fi request into an infrastructure job.

Outdoor event sites may have no fixed data cabling, limited power, changing layouts and strict rules around mounting or cable routes. Marquees, cabins, containers, vehicles and large structures can also block or absorb wireless signals.

We design the network around the physical site and the operational workflow, then agree what is installed, how it is powered, how it is protected and how it will be supported.

Suitable event types

  • Sports events and race villages
  • Agricultural shows and outdoor exhibitions
  • Film, television and temporary production sites
  • Community events and public gatherings
  • Remote hospitality and sponsor areas
  • Temporary offices, compounds and staff areas

The practical site questions

  • Where is power available?
  • Which structures can hold equipment?
  • Are tripods, masts or weighted stands permitted?
  • What cable routes and protection are allowed?
  • Which areas have line-of-sight restrictions?
  • Which devices must work in each zone?

A managed plan includes teardown

Temporary infrastructure needs a defined setup window, testing period, live support arrangement and removal plan. Those logistics are included in the scope rather than treated as an afterthought.

Common questions

Can you install equipment in a field with no fixed infrastructure?

Yes, subject to suitable backhaul, power, mounting arrangements, access and site safety. The design may use temporary masts, tripods, weighted stands or approved structures.

Is the equipment weatherproof?

Outdoor equipment is selected and installed for the environment, but power connections, injectors, switches and temporary cabling also need suitable protection and placement.

Can the network reach separate compounds?

Yes. Point-to-point wireless links or protected cabling may be used to connect separated zones, subject to distance and line of sight.

Do you provide power?

Power provision can be discussed, but the event organiser normally confirms suitable power at each required location. Any temporary power distribution must be clearly scoped.

Can the layout change after the design?

Changes are possible, but moving bars, structures or required coverage areas can materially change the network. Revised plans should be issued as early as possible and may require a redesign or variation.
